DairyLink UK Ltd was formed by Barbara Griffiths in June 2009 after Dairy Farmers of Britain (DFB) went into liquidation. Barbara’s position at DFB was as the Head of Local Government Procurement which meant she managed the Education Sector of the business, completing tenders and looking after 42 Local Education Authority accounts with her small team of 3.
The aim of DairyLink UK Ltd is to bridge the gap for the smaller businesses i.e. small dairies and milkmen/distributors who cannot for whatever reason tender for this type of business themselves. Our objective is to link the whole supply chain from the local farmer, processor, milkman/distributor to serve local milk to local schools whilst being aware of the sustainability and environmental factors they have to achieve. We currently hold Northumberland County Council and Ceredigion County Council where we have retained the business for the local milkmen to serve their schools and nursing homes.
DairyLink is a one stop shop for the customer so instead of dealing with many milkmen in their area, they can deal just with us. We take all the orders from the sites, input into our SOPS (sales order processing system), generating delivery tickets, invoices etc. With our hands on approach, expertise and knowledge of schools and caterers achieved over the last 14 years and now the link up to the suppliers we believe we offer the most full, comprehensive and knowledgeable service to any Education establishment. For the ‘smaller’ dairies and milkmen, we take out all the hassle of the administration of a contract for them and feed through their orders to them every week so they just simply concentrate on their own areas of expertise.
